Spring Tree

Spring symbolizes new beginnings and here at Hospice of the East Bay we are experiencing a fresh look. Our Pleasant Hill office is under construction as we make room for our growing staff needs. We have remodeled the old warehouse in the back of the building with offices for our Human Resources, Foundation and Retail departments. The main building will now have more room for our clinicians to work and collaborate between patient visits. These changes in our work environment will make us more efficient and ensure that we are here to service our communities for years to come.

One of the reasons we are able to provide the quality services that make us the premiere hospice in the area is our volunteers. In 2014, foundation volunteers worked over 29,000 hours and clinical volunteers over 12,000! These wonderful people truly believe in our mission and we could not do what we do without them.

Our annual Tree of Lights ceremonies were especially well-attended this winter, with many of you dedicating lights to loved ones. Coming together during the holiday season to remember those we have lost is very beneficial to the grieving process.

Mark your calendars for some great upcoming events this year. The Third Annual Friends of Hospice Rossmoor Walk is May 4th. Our largest fundraising event, the Celebration of Care, is May 16th at the Diablo Country Club. The theme will be “A Night in Paris.” You are invited to attend, sponsor or donate an item for the auction. The Bruns House memorial plaque and brick dedication ceremony will be August 12th and the Second Annual Rossmoor Art and Wine event will be October 5th. Please contact Gloria Blecha at for more information about these events.

Thanks to your generosity, we are able to provide hospice care to all, even those with no insurance or ability to pay. Your gift, no matter what the size, makes a difference and we are grateful to you.
