Staff and volunteers at a Tree of Lights event

Fundraising & Event Volunteers play a crucial role in supporting our mission. They generously contribute their time, skills, and resources to help us organize fundraising events that benefit Hospice East Bay.

Our dedicated volunteers actively engage in various aspects of event management, including event planning, guest registration, decoration, bartending, candlelighting, securing auction donations, and fostering corporate partnerships.

Each role is vital in ensuring the success and enjoyment of our fundraising events. If you’re interested in exploring our fundraising volunteer opportunities further, please contact Ann Mimiaga, Fund Development Manager, at (925) 887-5678.

Hops for Hospice

Hops for Hospice

This is a fun-filled evening of BBQ, beer, music, auctions, and community held at a local restaurant or brewery. The combination of food, beverages, entertainment, and community support is a fantastic way to raise awareness and funds. This event has a lower price point to allow all community members to attend, support, and learn more about our work. Through publicizing this event we reach over 5,000 community members.

Tree of Lights

We host more than ten Tree of Lights events across Contra Costa County in November and December. During these ceremonies, donors purchase a light for a specific tree to have their loved one’s name read aloud. Each event ends with a gathering, offering drinks and cookies, where we connect with our donors. These events typically attract between 25 to 75 participants. Our event mailer reaches over 4,500 community members.
